1998 Century - Broken Stabilizer Bar

I currently have just over 80k miles on my Century and earlier this morning had the front stab bar break near the link on the passenger side of the car. The part broke during an accident avoidance maneuver on the freeway and as a result I spun out but luckily I did not hit anyone nor did anyone get hurt (just scared the hell out of us).
Have any of you heard of this happening? I purchased the car just over two years ago from the original owner (little old lady) with 31k miles on it.
I am almost half tempted to contact Buick Customer Relations or someone within the quality organization at GM.
Let me know your thoughts. By the way, how hard is it to replace the stab bar?

Tne stock sway bars on these cars usually rust and break where they connect to the link. This happened on my GTP. I replaced it with an aftermarket one and haven't had any problems since. This is a common issue and thankfully you kept your car under control when yours broke. Try gmpartsdirect.com of a new part for your car. You can replace it with a couple of jack stands, some hand tools and a little patience. Also make sure to order the end links as the ones on the car will probably break when you go to remove them.
