Destination le or at??

I currently have destination le on my 01 4wd passport. They have about 55000 on them and they have "cupped". I was told it was shocks or alignment problem so i had it aligned and it was not out of alignment. So i am going to get new shocks,,monroe sensatracs, and was wondering if i should put at or le's back on it. I have gotten a price from a friend that works at firestone for around $430 for all 4 tires, installed, lifetime balance, new stems, the works. I can get either set for the same price. Is there any advantage of the at over the le? Would gas mileage decrease with the at being the more aggressive tread pattern? I do hardly any off road driving and live in ohio so the roads do not get bad from snow except maybe 6-10 times per year. looking for advise!

I have the AT's and my gas mileage is the same as it was before I had them. I like the aggressive look and they do wel off road in mud and such so I feel like i can go anywhere. Either one you won't be disappointed but I'd get the AT's

Those 6-10 times of year of snow can make the difference between getting home safely or not.

Get the A/T's....look at tirerack.com, they are the leading tire on the road right now. Number #1 last I looked, for snow, ice, and normal driving conditions...best of all worlds for a nicely priced tire.

I always prefer AT tires, even when I had my 2wd p/u. The more aggressive the tread the better. Cant say I noticed any differenece in mileage.

If you want some real fun, drive in snow with a front end thats badly out of alignment. Its really interesting when its alternating between snow and and wet pavement. Can feel one tire slide across the snow then grab and jerk you back the other way lol. Gotta get my bushings and alignment done soon.

does this seem like a fair price for all 4 tires, mounted/balanced..??/$430

Yeah not bad at all. Think I paid at least that for my timberlines a couple years ago before tire prices went up.
