If you care, the ruber around the windows and on the roof of my Volvo in the gallery is in that colour :D

Tamiya's German Grey is a matt/flat color, you would have to apply a clear coat to it to get a gloss look.
Did you think of using gun-metal grey instead?

Audi perhaps, the TT was offered in Aviator grey. THE UGLIEST COLOR I HAVE EVER SEEN ON AN AUDI! It was truly awful

Don't use it. IMO its TOOO flat no matter how much you cut and polish. Thats the reason I re-painted my 350Z. Here is an idea:
