Project: Cusco DC5 ITR (56k beware)

Well this car does not really exist. It's basically a combination of decals from the Cusco Silvia Fujimi kit, the Fujimi ITR kit, and Scale motorsports CF decals. The wing is an Aoshima piece, I moved the mounting legs outwards. Most pictures of GT wings in Options magazine for the ITR show the mounting legs outwards where the stock wing mounts. And you may say "but it says spoon on the hood" and well here it is. I saw the Cusco skyline at Autosalon in 2002 and it had "Mine's" stickers all over it. So this is a Cusco and Spoon effort. :)
All detail painting are acrylic gunze sangyo paints.

Thanks, progress is going very slowly right now. A little distracted by work and other interests. I still need additional decaling, to paint the bumpers, wheels, etc..

The only problem is the Silvia has a relativaly short side from the bottom of the door to the glass. I think the Cusco Evo7 kit would have been a better donor for the decals.

I'm just going to use them to help me make new ones, i will scan them then trace them on computer.

I kept tearing the decal. Scale motorsports decals are so thin! It was a pain. But 3rd time's the charm. Yup three attempts. Not to mention tons of clear coat to protect it.

I can't believe that a manufacturer would actually make rotors like that! If your rotors ever look that grooved you've got serious problems.

Kit's looking great though, always been a cusco fan...

That's Fujimi for you. Though in their defense. The Blitz MR-S looks a lot better than most of their kits in terms of detail.

Wow!:flash: That camera of yours really brings out all of your hard work. Great job. What kind of camera/ lens do you use?

The thing that kills me most about the grooves in the rotors is that they had to go out of their way to make that mold. It is easier to just make plain ole flat discs without the grooves. What were they thinking?!?

Post more pics!!! :D

It's a Sony DSC-S85. The Macro focus really sucks though! Seriously, these are some of the worst pictures the camera has taken. I need to use a close up lens with the macro or a telephoto with no macro. Also because it has a 52mm diameter lens it has very limited depth of field compared to a Nikon or Canon with a smaller diameter lens. I'm hoping with the right lens I can get greater depth of field, to give me a more realistic finish.

Also all those shots were at night, which really hurts and adds that grain to the image. Here's a better image taken with the same camera
