Happy New Years!

Just thought I would wish everyone a happy new years. Anyone got any resolutions? I've got a couple, but its going to be a good couple pager as per usual and I dont have time for that now, so I'll do it later. Anyway, everyone have a safe and happy new years tomorrow night.

Resolutions are:
-Move out
-make more money than last year (never ending resolution)
-gain weight
-get mad built
-get band going
-get at least 1 CD recorded

Happy New year fellas!
-Stop smoking
-Get a turbo setup
-Get back into shape
-Work at or open a performance shop for DSMs:grinyes:

Work work work.

Here's my resolutions:
-Get good grades
-Get better at guitar
-Get in better shape

For the grades I am aiming for a 3.3 for next semester. I think that translates to something like B, A-, A-, A and I think thats pretty legitimate goal for the classes I have. I am using guitar stuff to motivate me for good grades so if you guys see my music thread updated excessively during the next couple months, y'all know whats up.

Guitar is something I am really into again, I've been playing my $200 guitar/amp combo for about a minimum of 3 hours a day. I'm growing weary though, one day I started playing at 1 and didnt get done until 5:30 and I had tuned that POS atleast 10 times in those 4.5 hours. If I can be at an estimated 3.3 by midsemester, I am going to start shopping for an Ibanez S320, S470, or S520. Honestly, its going to come down to which one I can get cheapest used. Used stuff doesnt bother me, just as long as its not banged around and effed up. My buddy Mike and I are thinking about getting a bar band together for next summer so we'll see how that goes.

Lastly, I need to get back in shape. I am going to start running again as soon as my knee decides to stop being an asshole. I am going to lift on a regular basis too. See, last year I had some big goals and a rigorous plan. This time, I am not going to get on the scale for like a month, eat good but what I feel like, and not stress so much about numbers. Before I wante to be a bean pole for less mass to carry for the marathon. Well, if I was running sub 3 hour races that would be one thing, but body mass is far less important at my speed.

So yeah, by the end of the semester I hope to be as fast as Steve Prefontain, as good at guitar as Eddy Van Halen, as smart as Albert Einstien, or a combination of all three. ;)

mine are simple.
Graduate with my honours bachelors degree from university.
Either get into Law school or do my masters.
Get some of my definition back I used to have (like abs and shit)
Get my car running CONSISTENT 12's on PUMP gas and full weight.

I have major changes in my life going on right now. I am trying to adjust all of my priorities... Right now I spend all my free time online accomplishing nothing. Probably the reason I am so fed up with my job. It seems like I sleep and work and I'm sick of that life.

The drinking, I pretty much cut out of my life weeks ago rather than waiting until the 1st. I have realized that when I get started, I am a true alcoholic. I have no stopping point. This spring/summer after I got back from California, I was drunk 90% of the time up until about September. Then I really cut back a lot. I tried to avoid it, but then I would slip up and go back into it. I'm sure it can't be healthy for me when I do it. I don't just get drunk, I get plastered... Everytime... Major binging = bad liver... Not a good thing... So I am done with the drinking. I might have a few drinks once in a while for a special occasion, but nothing else...

The internet... I need to cut out of my life a lot. I will still be on here and there, but I would like to focus on more important things. 1. My photography... 2. My film work/animation... 3. The band... I am going to buy a new camera soon for my photography because of my old one being broke. I am going to put together my portfolio with some actual logic and sub categories. I am hitting the programs hard again with the animation. My one friend and I are redoing our old college final project to blow it away with what we have and know now. Then we are moving onto green screening and filming hardcore... The band... Well, this weekend I have officially been invited to join a local band. Of course they don't wanna be just "a local band"... They wanna take it to the top and become something with it. I am willing to work hard with them to get there. I am really excited about it and would like to show them my best performance. Of course I can't do that if I spend all my time online doing nothing. :wink: So slowly but surely I have been online less and less... I have been playing my guitar for several hours a day and working on my scripts and storyboards...

The Talon... It is very close to being finished, but I have been dragging my feet on it lately because of the cold and snow. I don't wanna take it outside in this weather after all the rust has been fixed on it... If I really hit it hard and worked on it, it could be done in a week... Seriously... It is just a few tiny stupid things and it's ready to start up and drive... I am gonna try to work on it a day here and there until the snow is done (What? Another 2 months maybe?) and then it'll be on the streets... Of course I don't know how long it'll stay there. I am gonna drive it and enjoy it for at least a year and then I am gonna make a choice. Either sell it and get ahead in life, or keep it and struggle for a little while longer with other bills...

I'm sure you guys have noticed less and less of me... I have been checking in here at least twice a day still... Once in a while a little more... But not 100 times a day like I used to. :uhoh:

Everybody be safe on this holiday... I don't wanna hear anymore drinking horror stories already. I just heard about a friend getting hurt, I'm assuming while drunk this weekend, and screwing up one of her vertebra. I guess shes in constant pain and could potentially be paralyzed in one of her legs. Also destroyed her liver from drinking... I am afraid to see what kind of shape my liver is in after this last year. :(

-No more drinking for me, except for a few drinks on special occasions.
-Cutting back on internet time. AF, Myspace, Facebook, AIM, etc...
-Focusing on 3 things in my life. My photography, my films, and the band.
-Finishing the Talon slowly until Spring because of the snow and cold.
-Driving the Talon for a year and then deciding whether to keep or sell it.

Damn Bri well it's good to see you getting some priorities straightened out. I always makes fun of your myspace addiction but you really are on it too much. The band sounds freakin sweet and so does all the film stuff.

And the drinking is bad there. I'll probably do more this year than most of the years combined, but that's just the business I'm in. Good to see you're thinking about yourself and the future. Make it right!

My resolutions are:
lose the weight I gained from quitting smoking (lost 11 so far, have about 15 more to go)
Get the 68 Ford truck restore started
Go through the Nissan front to back and replace all that needs replacing
10000+ other things but don't want to commit to

Hmmmm... there is one common thing amongst all of us and suprisingly, its not DSM's. I think there are more of us here that play guitar than own DSM's :lol:.

That's hilarious!! I remember going to Jewel for Ginger Ale (not for me) but they were closed. HAHAHA... Living in the past. I kill me sometimes.
