Since my other one was stolen I am redoing another one using the Aoshima C-West Kit. Heres some chassis painting and the FMIC. Trying to get everything going, just got a new printer too to help with sponsor logos and all the gauges. Pics are camera phone. Will be digital camera from here on out. Thanks. and thanks to the people who helped out my girlfriend to find this kit.

X2 on the job. Seems that a lot of people are suffering right now.

That is going to be a heck of a lot of Nos in that ride, lol. That like a 3 stage system? So basically it would be running the juice 24/7,lol. I know it wouldn't. Sad about the first one but I am glad you are still moving forward.

First off, RIP Paul Walker
And condolences to those close to him. He will be missed by many.

In lieu if current events I have decided to finish this model kit. Sorry for dragging up a very old thread but I'd rather do this than create a new one. Also, I realize all the old pics do not work, sorry. I haven't touched this for over 4 years and I'm excited to see how far my skills have come as well. I unboxed my kit to find this:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v379/mstngcobrasvt98/2f2f/20131202_165235.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v379/mstngcobrasvt98/2f2f/20131202_165224.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v379/mstngcobrasvt98/2f2f/20131202_165216.jpg
I realized the interior color is incorrect. The Nitrous setup is broken and the rims are in various test stages. Since I bought the whole kit again to repair the body, I am starting all over with this. New parts for the interior, suspension, underside and hopefully these
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v379/mstngcobrasvt98/2f2f/20131203_200426.jpg
Been working on these for about 2 days as these are not made in any scale for our hobby.Checking with a local company first then off to shapeways. I will try to keep frequent updates with this. Again I do apologize for digging up such an old thread, but this needs to be done.

hirofkd
12-04-2013, 02:09 AM
There's no reason to apologize for reviving a WIP thread, and I'm looking forward to your progress. I think WIP threads are always open until the project is finished.
I dug out a box with Supra parts, and started mulling over how to proceed with my Bomex Supra project once again. I'm collecting reference photos so I can design the Racing Hart wheel in CAD.

those look nice, hopefully mine turn out that good.

aren't the racing hart wheels available from aoshima?

hirofkd
12-04-2013, 10:15 PM
Aoshima has Racing Hart CR wheel set. It's a six-spoke design, but a little different from RH M5 that the F&F Supra has.
AMT's Supra is 1/25, (which is also available in Aoshma box with the incorrect scale designation of 1/24).
There's 1/24 diecast, but it's easier for me to just design a wheel in CAD.

Well. I got my rims today but was kind of disappointed. I made the spokes too thin and the hub section is very fragile. I edited my file though and made notes for future designs. I'm going to try a few coats of primer then some color and see what they look like. As for size, they are perfect!! Rubber fits, the nylon bushing fits, it fits the model.... just things were too thin.

tip for spokes like that i make them 1mm thick minimum with a .4 bridge behind the spoke filleted at both ends it helps big time with strength. Dont print in anything less than Frosted Detail.

I thought thats what I had selected but I guess not. I may think about editing the file and submitting a new order as I dont see this project being finished in the next month. Update on engine bay. Shock towers are roughed out and it all fits under the body shell.

t thought so too but it's scaled correctly. 6.75 diameter scaled down is .28 and the dowel is .25..... the tank is 22.75 so almost an inch. I'll check photos but don't really want to rebuild them.

oh and the lines were never hooked up in the movie so.... not sure if I should

Thanks for the comments. Submitted my order from shapeways for my Frosted Ultra Detail rims... 41$.... but i guess for a 1 off set its worth it. I kind of hit a wall though as I want to put belts in but i don't know who to order from or to just use Tamiya 1/16 tape instead... does anyone have any advice? Ive never used belt detail kits. And I did search the forum and read the reviews. Thank you for any input on this subject.

I think the Tamiya tape looks pretty good but 2mm silk ribbon looks more realistic. I picked up some "YLI Pure Silk Ribbon White" online for around $6 bucks. And you can make it any color you want with a Sharpe.
