Gas in Oil

I have a 94 Ranger 4.0L with 250000 miles. It is getting gas in the oil at a very alarming rate. I only drive it less than 20 miles a week on average and it shows about a quart increase on the dipstick after only 500 miles or less. I have changed the injectors, fuel pressure regulator, pcv and all vac hoses as they keep getting swelled as if the are being corrupted with the fuel/oil. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Other than this it runs well and the gas mileage is reasonable.

Gas leaking into the crankcase system is a dangerous situation. If what you are saying is correct, gas will not only create an explosive sistuation in the crancase but also will affect the lubrication of your bearings. With 250K miles on the engine, I would surmise that your valves and rings are already worn out. Nonethless, I would suggest not to use the vehicle until the problem is resolved.

Finally figured it out. I was wrong about the gas in oil it was transmission fluid. Thought I had ruled that out when the oil analysis didn't show transmission fluid in oil sample. Anyway, it turns out my transmission modulator valve diaphragm broke and was letting the transmission fluid be drawn up the vacuum line into the intake.

yes that would let tranny fluid go in your oil. and as one said it wont be good on main bearings. so the tranny modulater on the out side of tranny? i cant remember? but if on outside did you pull hose off module and it should have fluid in rubber hose that you can pull off.

It is located on the passenger side and is blocked by the catalytic converter and a heat shield. Had to do everything by feel. Yes, a little a/t fluid did drain out of line. This goes up to the main vacuum connection on the back side of the upper intake plenum. It made all the other lines that come off this soaked in oil and on occasion a backfire would blow one or more off. Recently tested the compression on all 6 cylinders and they all read good from 195 to 210. So, hopefully this hasn't done any real damage. Should have taken it somewhere sooner, but trying to save some money. As it turned out the mechanic didn't charge me for his time.
