just built a 350 and installed in my 86 firebird.runs great...no problems at all except even before i swapped engines the cruise and the vents for my heat/ac didn't open like they should. now they won't open at all....i only have air coming through the defroster only and the cruise never did work. i'm pretty sure it's a vacuum hose problem but i've been told there is a vacuum
"canister". it's not under the hood that i know of. is it under the dash?

I had a problem like this once where the vacuum line came off the "canister" or whatever you want to call it. Your vacuum lines usually originate from the intake manifold, and I seem to remember the canister being under the hood on the passenger side near the firewall (I'm not with the car right now to check). This was for the air vent controls, I don't think the canister affects the cruise but I may be wrong. Hope this helps.
