I currently have the transmission off to replace a leaking torque convertor leak and was thinking about changing the main engine oil seal that is also leaking. After pulling the flex plate off is the seal very hard to remove and how hard is it to find a replacement. Is this a dealer idem or does the local auto parts house know what to sell you that will work? Also I was reading in the Michell manual to replace the flywheel bolts. I never have replaced flywheel bolts on any american cars. Is this something that really needs to be done?

just remove the housing, tap out the seal, and tap in the new one.
btw, you might want to consider getting the factory manuals from www.helminc.com (http://www.helminc.com) pricey but good, considering all the stuff you are into doing on your 1994.

Since you have the trans out I recommend you do change the main seal. It is not hard to do, easier than most american 2 piece seals, and very accessible once you have the flywheel off. I have reused my bolts, as well. Make sure and mark the crank and flywheel so you get them back on in the same position. I know some cranks were drilled so the flywheel would only fit one way, but mine was not. Seal is generally a dealer item, Jerry L has them and fast ship too at a good price....

[email protected] is a certified Isuzu guru who also deals in Isuzu parts. I have bought lots or parts from him, and his advice is usually right on target. He ships fast and has a lot of parts that dealers seem to always have to special order. He was an Isuzu technician at their engineering/training center here in the US. A really nice guy. You will see a lot of people refer to his advice as you surf the Isuzu websites.
