I would say, about 50% built (about 600) and about 50% die-cast (another 600). The stock piles represent another 600 kits. But I do buy more kits now and then (about 5 a month or so). To my defence I have to say that I used to work for a model car shop (as a model builder, and not for a living that is), and the owner payed me in kits instead of money, which was fine by me :)

Heh, right now my collection looks like your stockpile, although with substantially less kits. So overall it matches pretty well, after all tamiya and fujimi kit boxes look similar, right?

What an amazing collection, too bad it doesn't do your models the justice they deserve when they're stuffed together so close to each other. But than again I think you would need half a warehouse to showcase all those models properly, maybe you could open up a car museum for all those beauties. If you would, let me know cuz I'll be the first visitor :D

The "normal" total value of the built and unbuilt kits (meaning the price you pay for the kit in a shop, without counting any work hours) is about € 40.000. (And yes, I'm insured). But I would never sell my collection that I have been collecting for over 25 years.

On occasion, I have sold a model or a kit... I have also built models for people who couldn't build them themselves, and lots of them too. I think somewhere between 200 and 250. Although I liked building those, I (almost) never had any problems selling them, because they never really "belonged" to me...

That is the Tamiya F50 yes. But I bought it when it first came out and I payed about $ 300 for it.

*upon seeing Sennake's collection* "i do believe i just SHAT myself!"

that is absolutely incredible! i mean, to have enough of one brand to fill an entire cabinet with it (as you've done with Mercedes and Ferrari) is incredible in itself, but then you've got like 5 other cases that are full as well!! that's truly incredible...

and i thought the PMan's collection was big...:p

Incredible collection of models and memoriabilia there Sennake. In my humble opinion the only area lacking is rallycars, need to building some more of them! :silly: And may I ask what kind of models the Playboy book is a reference for? :D

Good luck with the Tyrrell too. Those were the days of real GP racing, not the knackered circus starting up down here in a couple of weeks.

Yeah, you are right. And it's not that I don't HAVE any rallycar kits either!

The Playboy book is a reference to building... pitbabes of course!:D

When I was in Le Mans last year I took a LOT of "Hawaiian Tropic reference pics" like this : :licker:
