Hey guys,

now being on holiday and having some new found time I was looking at getting back into model making like I did when I was a kid. Like a few here I love the classic Porsches and wouldnt mind starting with one.

Ive managed to find a original Fujimi Carrera RS at the local model shop, its a wee bit pricy but not too bad. What are peoples views on this kit? Is it a good one to get back into it?

Im tempted to pick it up and maybe another model to save the RS for my second build or something. Dont want to ruin it doing silly things!

If anybody has any advice that would be great :)

Cheers,

Nick

Defininately save the RS for your second (or fourth) build. It's a good kit and can be made into a truly excellent build, but Fujimi Enthusiast kits tend to be unnecessarily and obnoxiously complicated. Anything that can be done nicely in four parts is done in fifteen, and they don't always fit very well. :uhoh: It's a real "builder's kit'- but nothing you shouldn't be able to manage with a couple of other builds under your belt first.

Welcome to AF!

I agree. This is a good kit if you have some other builds already completed as the first timer may get discouraged. This is an expensive kit and it would be a shame to never finish the model because one feels they've gotten over their head on the complicated build that this kit and other enthusiast kits tend to be.

That being said you'll find plenty of people on this forum who will give you excellent advice so don't be afraid to ask if you get into a jam.

I thought this might be the case! It did look like a impressive kit. I think Ill start with another favorite of mine, Tamiya Jagermeister 320i. I asume the build quality of this will be as awesome as other Tamiya models out there?

Now to find a few tools needed :)

Anybody else here from NZ?
