ABS/TRAC OFF light...I've tried about everything....

I have a 2000 Silhouette with 158,xxx miles. The ABS/TRAC OFF lights only come on after I let my foot off the brake when I start the engine. If I keep my foot on the brake, they never come on. As soon as I take my foot off the brake, they come on and they never go off. I have replaced both tail lamp boards and connectors and the brake switch. I've searched these threads and have not found an answer to anyone whose had the same problem after replacing these components.

The lights only started coming on about a week ago, just before my new boards arrived in the mail. I was hoping that replacing them would solve the problem, but it has not.

Any advice on what to check next?

I forgot to add that I have also checked the ABS connectors at each of the wheels also.

unless the brake switch itself is bad try changing it out. it is up on the brake pedal arm work the brake pedal while you are looking up in there and you will see it as the arm touches the switch.

Thanks for the suggestion. I replaced it a couple weeks ago, did not fix the problem.

I had my battery go dead and after I installed a new battery, the lights did not come on right away, but after a day or two they were back on. If noone else has any other ideas, I'm afraid it's off to the mechanic and let him scan codes and see if they can come up with a solution.
