93 LX Constant Ding Alarm Problem

As you can see by my lovely brick wall head smashing, I'm having a very annoying issue.

The Intirior lights never turn off, and when I turn on the headlights, the alarm goes off. (Like if the door was open) and it doesn't stop until I turn off the headlights. It has gotten to the point where I have to take the fuse out of the car during the day, so I don't drain the battery because the internal lights don't turn off. At night, I put it back in, but I have to drive not only with the inside lights on, but a constant dinging.

Any Ideas?

Welcome to the forum Josh. You may have a bad courtesy lamp switch in one of the doors. This switch is the little button on the hinge side of the doors. These two switches are in a closed position with the doors open which supplies power to the courtesy lamps (interior lights). With one door open at a time, pry the switch out of the pillar and disconnect it to see if the interior lights shut off. If the lights shut off then reconnect the switch and push the button in all the way. If the lights don't shut off then you have found the bad switch. If you have an ohmmeter then you can test the switches by connecting the meter to two of the three wires coming out of the switch at a time. With the button out there should be continuity between all three of the wires and with the button pushed in there should be no continuity between any of the three wires. Let me know how you make out with these tests because if both switches are alright then the next step is to test the door latch switch which means you have to remove the door panels for testing.
