fuel oder under hood

m y 95 jimmy has the smell of gas under the hood.i looked over everything and cant find any leaks.what about the return line that goes to the canerster inside the left quarter panel it looks like it was capped off near the tranny

Check fuel pressure and leakdown. Most likely a fuel pressure regulator or fuel line leaking under the plenum.
