brake lights won't go out

2005 f250 super duty,have tried disconnect switch and still won't go out, any suggestions

If you've taken the switch off and not disconnected the wiring connector the light will stay on. The brake light switch comes on when the plunger is out all the way. If you have disconnected the wiring then you have a short in the wiring system. To adjust the switch disconnect the electrical connector form the brake light switch. Loosen the switch lock nut and turn the switch clockwise until the plunger just touches the brake pedal, then turn it 1/2 turn more and tighten the locknut.
