Phew, a bit of a rush at the end but the Lotus is completed and will be my entry into AFMOTY07. Its taken 2 months and 7 days which isnt too bad really I suppose, if I could keep it like that then I could get 6 models done a year... yeah right!!! :)
Anyway thanks againt to one and all for following aqnd for the kind encouragements as always, I hope you enjoyed the build. I'm off to (sunny) Bournemouth for a couple of days so I will be back onto the TR7 when I get back.
Enjoy the pics, there will be many more on my site when I get it updated.
WIP thread is here (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=759324) and more completed pics are at my website here (http://www.scalereproductions.co.uk/)
all the best guys.

I think this is your best model yet.You have pushed the detail up a notch on this build.I also think your paint finish is very high on this one,not to say it was bad before, because it wasn't,but I think again you have moved it on to another level. It looks remarkably clean and the shine is very impressive.I really admire all the engine details and the carbon decal work as well.Really excellent build and now I have your Triumph TR7 to follow, happy days!!

All your work and detailling is so delicate and clean. It was great following along on this and even better to see it here. I really like this car and all your fine work just makes me look at it all the more.

as always, I can only say a big Thankyou!
I think we are all onto a good thing with the WIPS that are shared on here in terms of picking up hints and tips, so I am only too happy to share mine too (seeing how most of my ideas come from you guys anyway) :evillol:

Superb finish on the tyres, the graining looks very realistic. Very crisp in detail and sharply executed too.
Brilliant!

I don't know of any better comp than ordering the kit, decals, transkit, P/e set. I just did that. Thanks for the inspiration!
I think it would be easy to make a texured surface on the chassis, but the yellow decals on the chassis would look terrible. That's one of my fave things about the chassis. I'll do what you did. I really like the decal choice for the undertray. Could you be more specific about the brand and scale? Same with the front brake ducts. I like the way the CF pattern photographs in that shot.
I have zero ref material on the car except for googled images. So I will ask two more questions about the real car for anyone with real knowlege. It has nothing to do with your beautiful project. Was there a rule at some point requiring the front nosebox to remain aluminum for saftey reasons? (The washers on the kit's footbox appear to prove otherwise.) The sidpod radiator covers look like sheetmetal in their design. (rolled ribs, embossed lettering, perimiter flange), just like the kits exhaust outlets. The team could have used a sheetmetal buck for a mold..i guess?
I'm all for having fun and taking liberties with my models to make them look better. I also agree too much wiring in scale looks sloppy. The lighter blue decals from the Museum collection are so pretty and tempting but I'm not sure they are still around. I ordered the TABU versions.
Once again fantastic job! My fave part on the model is your wiring over the fueltank. The 90% turns as the harness follows the contours are perfect.

Hi Jack and happy new year!
sorry for the late reply to this and many thanks for your kind comments
for the decal on the floor I used Crazy Modeler 1/24 'Gold Carbon'
The brake ducts to me looked like a different weave so I have used S27 Cabon 27-FP003 decal for those (with plenty of microset & sol!).
I cant answer yuor question about the nosecose, over to the rest of you for that one!
thanks again and the best of luck with the build, Im sure your gonna enjoy it!
