95 blazer driver seat

i have an electronical driver seat that does not move when i press the buttons. i check the wires under the seat orange and black with a multi meter while the car was off and it only read 0.70v i doubt thats enough to power the seat. i heard that another problem maybe under the carpet with corrosion in the wires. i need to know if its possible to connect the motor of the chair from the battery or other source in ornage and black wire and check if the motor runs to make sure it may be corrosion under the carpet. and if it is how can i take the carpet out and put it back together without messing up anything.

ok so i just connected the motor from the lighter plug and the seat works and does move. now i need to know what i need to and how to remove the carpet and put it back together like it was before and what should i do with the wire and how to replace it thank in advance.

well in order to remove the carpet you have to remove everything that attaches to the floor. seats, console, transfer case shift box (if applicable) seat belts, kick panel peices, and possibly the lower interior plastic peices. then you can just pull it up. might want some help, its pretty heavy.

Had the same problem. Pull the carpet down from the drivers side. Under the carpet was a plastic wire case, open it up. There will be 1 hot wire coming into about 2-3 wires. Moisture usally corrodes the solder connection there, Re-solder the wires together or use wire nuts (Suggest soldering and taping up real good.

Very comon problem with these vehicles. For some dumb reason they ran the harness direcrlty underneath your feet where water and the constant rubbing of your heals makes a mess of the harness.
