97 no power

I have a 97 4.3 vortec. I removed the alt. and intake to replace the gaskets, but stupid me left the window open (power) so i hooked the battery back up to put the window up but there is no power when i turn the key on :dunno:
thank god for this site!!!! or i would be in so much trouble.

Do you have the ground cable off of the engine?

I dont believe i do. I took off the alt. water pump a/c and power steering to get at the timming cover, as well the intake manifold to replace the gaskets. Is it posible that when I disconnected the wiring for the injectors on top of the intake it shuts down the power to the key. Oh is there some way to get the truck out of park so I can move it. There seems to be some kind of switch in the brake and i cant get it out of park without having the key on. Thanks for your input on this matter.

The wires have to be connected at the alternator before anything will work.

oh ok so if i plug the the alt wire back on and put the power wire on the back i'll get power, and do i have to groung the alt to the motor.

Just hook the big wires that came off of back of alternator together.
A 1\4 bolt and nut may be used to connect them but tape up so nothing shorts out.
