Hi, I just got the Advan Altezza by Fujimi for xmas...
And detail-wise.... I was kind of dissapointed.
There isn't much to the kit at all and the quality of alot of the components leaves much to be desired.
And as assumed before I opened the box... the kit inside did not reflect the actual car (eg. GT Wing, wheels etc)
Just curious if people with hands on knowledge...
Are all the other fujimi kits on the market essentially the same in quality and lacking the additional parts shown on the boxart?
Quality/detail waise how does the Aoshima and Tamiya (not sur eif there is one) stack up?
Which kit also has the most additional components for customisation?
What wheels did the Advan Altezza actually run? The boxart picture, the car is in motion and you can't tell.
Don't suppose anyone knows who ran no.25 and what year? It might have been Akira Iida? I know Taniguchi ran no.7
Any suggestions on extras to acquire or anything at all in building an Advan Altezza?
Thanks

Based on the box picture it looks like it's running on Enkei Nt-03's.
Fujimi box art/pictures are normally teasers...what's inside as you mentioned leaves much to be desired... although i can't blame them, they're one of the few kit companies if not the one that has the most variation in 1/24 car kits. For example tamiya puts out 2-4 1/24 passenger cars pers year and the quality is top notch, where as fujimi puts out 20-50 and the quality is not as good, but the variety is there...

The Fujimi model is based on the #25 Super Taikyu version. There are other versions of the Advan Altezza but the box art depicts the #25 car. I also used to have this particular kit but sold it. There are 3 other versions of the Advan Altezza, one of which is the #32 without the GT-Wing, for which decals are included in the Fujimi kit. The Advan cars use Enkei NT-03, and also Enkei ES Tarmac.
I'll actually be building one in the future but I just bought a standard Fujimi RS200 Altezza kit and got the Advan decals from MSM. The MSM decals includes decals for all 4 versions so you can actually build the #25 version with these and the addition of a GT-Wing. The only thing I can see having difficulty with, and I'm having a hell of a time finding reference pics for, is the race interior. I don't recall who drove the #25 car but I've seen the information on Super Taikyu sites I've come across on the web.
Good luck with yours, I hope it turns out well!

Gawwwd I luv Natashi Yi kakaka..... anyways back on topic.
Thanks for that lil info El Krammito. Really happy to get a 2nd confirmation on the wheel type.
Thnx for wihsing me luck kakaka... I am not as skilled as the majority on the forum... I'm not upto full customising, only following instructions and minor kitbashing... no major mods. But I'll do my best.
All the best with yours too.
BTW does the decal set have one of Taniguchi's version?
Thanks stouring2005.
Luv those pics.. I totally forgot how good Orido's RSR car looked..! Wonder if there are decals available...
And I use this site to generally upload pics.
http://imageshack.us/
Be appreciated if you could show us the interior.
Does any Altezza kits come with an alternate bare tub? Or any suggestions on something to kitbash with (a racetub and rollcage of similarish dimensions? The luxury interior doesnt quite look right lol.
Can I have the link for MSM where you got the decals from? Didnt see much on google and I am feeling abit lazy to go thru pages

i found the link to the place i got the decals from but it looks like they don't carry the msm advan altezza decals anymore. looks like strada sports has them. i don't know why it shows the f40 but the description is for the altezza:
http://www.stradasportsstore.com/page21.html
there are a couple other places online i found that had them but they're sold out so it looks like strada sports is your best bet.
