i just bought a 92 voyager. when i start the enging when cold for the first time after it starts there is some weird noise not a lifter tick or a rod knock.a crunching, whirling,,clanking. now after driving it and i turn the engine off. it will make the same noise for 2-3 seconds. now i do know the brakes are screwed up some . like the power brakes went out. my guess is its that hydrolic pump on master cylinder/ ABS thing. could that make a bunch of the noise i'm hearing ? i know sounds are very hard to describe.

Is this a 92 or a 2002 Model? If it is a 2002 then you most likely need to replace the alternator decoupler. Go to www.tendeco.com to read more about the alternator decoupler. They are available at www.iat-usa.com, www.duboismareketing.com as well as RCP Canada and Goodyear. This is only if it is a 2001-2005 model year not the 92. Judging by the nature of your problem I wonderd if you made a typo on the year of the van. Hope this helps.

no typo it is a 92. i could understand a noise after starting it. but what throws me is when i shut off the engine. it will make the same noise. but not all ways. it will make the noise when i start it when it is sitting over night. seldome after its been warmed up.
