yes, you should get a subwoofer powered by an amplifier. i'm not sure about the stock setup in the 2k1, but you might be able to replace the factory sub if it has one...if not, there are ways to rewire using the stock head unit. in any case, you should mount the amp on the rear seatback to save space, plus it looks kinda cool. if you really don't want to do any work, you can pay like 100 bucks to have it all done for you

I would mount the amp to the back of the box you put the sub/s in. depending on the size of the amp

i dont know if this is what syne is talking about, but i think he means a powered subwoofer with an amp built in. bazooka and infiniti are the only companies i know that make them, infiniti being the better of the two. they are cool if you wanna pay $400 for a 12" sub but im not sure on the sound, never heard one.

if ur wantin some good strong bass, go get some rockford fosgate hx2's and get a big enough amp to power it. that or maybe some JL's. theres some brand i found last year that made a 34" subwoofer. it was 5000 dollars and pushed 5000 watts. :D

no, those stupid amp/sub combinations don't work that well, the new maxima's have them, and they're obviously not up to aftermarket quality, but the amp just can't get enough power, plus the fact that cooling becomes a problem when both are in one unit
