I LOVE IMPREZAS!!!! specially the new STi so no matter what you do i will still love it but why use the stock metalic blue paint? ive seen a really really hot sti where the guy just painted it a flat blue and moded it and didnt use gold rims. Im just laying down a suggestion if yours really wants to stand out but no matter what it will look good man g/l!

U should get orange peel if used cheap spray paint or if ur Nozzle is clogged, or another reason is if u dont know how to spray. I had orange peel on my first model cuz i wasnt good at spraying and my next models were perfect.

You ought to clearcoat it for best results.

Worry about it? - No. Consult the PMan painting FAQ? - Yes. There's a ton of ways to address the peel. It's up to you.

Can't wait to see it finished.

isnt it possible to get rid of the orange peel by simply waxing and polishing long enough?? I think i read that in the FAQ..

Looks good,
Could see that you have done some compund work on the body, but there still seem to have orange peel on it. Maybe you could sand it and respray it again?

Take the time to address the paint. The easy road of clearcoat will not solve the problem.

Wet sand the paint smooth. Wash and prep for painting. Spray two extremely light mist coats and one final wet coat. Let each of these three coat dry before application of the next coat.

That orange peel looks to be from the paint starting to dry and you were still putting a heavy coat on. - My guess?

does anyone know how to put on tints in the back windows using Tamiya Smoke? any method besides airbrushing... since i dont have one =(

I had real trouble brushing on mine too, from the inside it looks really uneven and sloppy, but from the outside it looks pretty tinted if you apply enough coats. I guess it's all or nothing - you won't be getting a nice 'light' tint from X-19 smoke brushpainted that looks good.

it seems that ive had some problems with paint coming off due to too much rubbing with the tamiya compound.. so i've decided to sand my entire body down again and repaint the whole body.. i was out of TS-50 so i just placed a new order... hope it comes soon.. any tips on applying clear coat after the paint cures?

my package from HLJ arrived the other day and i was able to repaint my WRX... also started a Tamiya Supra as well... the supra's just been primered and the WRX still needs to be cut back and polished.
