check your alternator belt, it might be loose. or maybe other belts if you have any more...

I had the same trouble last week. It has something to do with the cold weather but the belt is too loose. All you need to do is tighten the belt. Start by loosening the bolt on the sliding bracket of the alternator. Now you can move the alternator further away from the engine which in turn will tighten the belt.

I dont know shit about the 95 trannies but if there the same as the 4g then it will be a real simple install. But while you have the engine out you may as well replace everything possible. Belts, water pump, clutch if needed. Its alot easier to do that stuff with the engine out of the car.

the 95 civic tranny is a hydro tranny, you'll have to convert it to cable to use it.

Well that definetly make it a little more complicated, 4g Si trannies arent too expensive are they?
