I'm not a fan of the Cavalier at all, but what caught my eye in the new issue of Sport Compact Car sounds promising.
They didn't mention if Chevy is going to build it, but the car was at the SEMA Show.
It had a nice body kit and some 17" wheels. But under the hood is what is the best part. A turbocharged 4-cylinder that makes 220HP. That's 5 more than the SRT-4 Neon! If Chevy would produce that car and keep the price under $20K, like the Neon, Chevy would sell so many they wouldn't know what to do. And we would also probably see the biggest horsepower war in years.

That would be nice!! I have heard that GM is going to make a big effort to get into the sport/compact market... but I don't see them making that big of a jump. But you're right... it would spur a lot of action in the automotive industry if they did!!!

i think it would be a smart move for them to biuld it becuase they dont really have a product that is competative enough to compete in that segment.

You do know there is a very nice turbo kit out there for the cavalier dont you? If you do know of any, how much do they cost for a 7psi turbo w/ a air to air intercooler? Ive got a direct connection to a turbo shop and can get some great deals for anything for the Cavalier! Just PM me!

it's good to see that that chevy is still interested in the sport market. I have owned 3 cavaliers in the last fifteen years and I have been very happy with the product. If chevy goes with this design, I think I know what my next cavalier will be.

Actually in an earlier issue SCC dyno tested the SRT-4 and it put 223hp and 250lbs/tq to the front wheels. It's only "rated" at 215hp.:smoka:

This Cavalier will not happen, GM has already posted that. Just another coulda/shoulda that Chevy is going through right now. They are coming out w/ some badass' but just in time to catch up w/ Fords line of supercharged vehicles, mostly just trucks and Cobras but the Foci is getting fitted to be forced inducted! They need to bring out the allwheel drive turbos again!!!! They've laid down and played dead since that era. Just my two cents worth!:silly2:
