if you ask me i think a short ram intake is the best way to go

seriously think about it if you had a short l;ittle straw and a big long wide straw wich would be easyer to suck shit up with??

the short little one my point exactly thats why i believe the short ram is better than cold air intake

the AEM intakeis the best kind of intake out there for 88-91 Civic/CRX

Intakes are all the same, if you want a cold air just get one ... dont spend the extra money on AEM, it isnt worth the money in my opinion.

Personally I went short ram because there are big storms here sometimes and I dont want to have to worry about hydrolock.

I have seen test on both short ram and cold air, cold air beats the short ram just because of the temps of the air. and you will be suprised how much air the CAI brings in, my friends teg will suck your hand to the air filter.

From what I have heard AEM is the best...but not that great on price. Damn they are expensive.

My friend had a short ram intake and cut a hole in the airbox under it and then boght like a dryer vent air vent...you know the ones on the side of your house....and put it under the car like a scoop and it is pretty good so I was thinking maybe just do that if there is such a big price diff between the short ram and the CAI! I dunno:rolleyes:

actually it seemed to do quite a bit...if you think about it it is bringing up a lot more cold air than it gets just sitting inside the engine bay.

no pictures, but trust us, CAI's really do work a lot better cuz the air is at a lower temp and more dense. This puts more air into the cumbustion chamber making more power. I'd say a short ram would give you like 3hp and a cold air would give you maybe 5-7hp.

I really don't think the tube itself makes a difference, i think the main thing is the filter, so far from what i heard K&N is the way to go on filters

I run an Iceman short ram. I have the CAI but I am too lazy to fuck with it everytime it rains. (Im not as lucky as you cali ppl who get little rain and when it does rain no one drives for fear of getting wet lol) I gave the extension piece to my friend so he can rig it up on his ranger.
It has a K&N filter on it and I agree that the filter probably makes a bigger difference than the brand. The only thing I see the Iceman has going for it is the way it funnels down.
