Burnouts, donuts....COPPERS!

Ok, so after I get back from having birthday time with my family, around 11pm tonight, me and a bunch of friends decided to go out and get some clips for our video(we're making a car video, a la TurboDreams). We decide to go to the highschool parking lot where there's plenty of open space and lots of ice on the ground. We go around back and get ready to go. Before I go any further here's the people who were with me and the cars...
1. Me - 1996 Camaro Z28
2. Zeph - TT Supra
3. Jerry - Turbo LS
4. Suwan - Prelude SH
5. Scotty - Civic EX
6. Christof - 1999 Trans Am
7. Jeff - Dodge Viper GTS
8. Marco - Corvette C5
9. Serena - Turbo SI
So we hit the lot with all of us, and about 10 or so other people who are passengers in various vehicle. As expected the ice is thick and very slippery...It's PERFECT!:D We have a couple of different people filming from different angles and stuff, getting tons of good footage of us basically just having fun! Burnouts, donuts, Initial D style ice-drifts, some mini drift races around cones and parked school buses, the whole deal. One of the most memorable stunts is when everyone lined up to form a gauntlet. 4 cars on each side, all with our drive wheels pointing inwards, so we're setup like this...
out = in = out
out = in = out
out = in = out
out = in = out
And then we all soaked our rubber in a healthy dose of bleach and started to spin 'em up. We got a HUGE cloud of smoke going, then Jeff in his Viper, the "odd man out", drove back and forth, from one end of the gauntlet to the other. One camera-guy was in the car and one was at the end, waiting for him to come out. From either view, with all of the smoke, it looked GREAT. Another really good one was Jeff, in the Viper spinning around in tight little donuts(once again with plenty of bleach:D ) and then I spun AROUND him in big donuts going the opposite way! That looked amazing! We were considering having someone else go AROUND me, when everything went to hell:(
Two Fairfax County Troopers pull into the lot and drive over to us...We knew we had it coming:( Anyways, to make a long story short, I ended up with a ticket for not having my license on me(lost it!), Suwan got one for illegal tails, Serena got one for wheel clearance, Zeph got one for no registration, and Scotty got one for his exhaust. And the worst part about the tickets is that they didn't give any of us the option to prepay...Meaning we all have to appear in court! How insanely GHEY is that!?:mad: They also gave us a lecture about trespassing, and said that the ONLY reason they didn't cite us ALL for trespassing was because it was my birthday!!:D So I guess that's a good thing, heheh. We did also end up with about 35 minutes worth of fantastic footage for our video as well, so that's a good thing.
We really should have known better...After all, COPS LOVE DONUTS!!:finger:

Sounds like great fun!! How cold is it there? Highs and lows? And how long does it take for you to warm up your car?

hahah sweeet stuff Self... can we get a clip of the night on the net please? :D
Fatninja... always with the randoms... His car is Fuel Injected... doesnt need to be 'warmed' up per-say. Turn-key and go, although its a rule of thumb that you dont rally untill the car is warmed up. As we know a car warms up quickly once its under a load, ie Driving.
But what do I know? I drive Carb'ed Vehicles. :D

Man this is crazy. It started snowing here around 4 this morning...Over a foot on the ground by noon!!:eek: Expecting another foot by tomorrow:eek: I'll take some pics a little later on. I've already been out too, heheh. Shoveled the driveway and hit the streets. Got some more Initial D drifting in on my way to NTB(had to pick up new tires) and was extremely dissapointed when I got there and it was closed:( Temps are currently 15 degrees(feels like -1). So not TOO horrible, but definitely cold enough to freeze you to death and keep a ton of snow on the ground:) I'll TRY and get some of those clips onto a computer somewhere. I think one of the camera's has AV hookups so we should be able to. But yea, it was great fun, and we may go back out today if we can find someplace where the snow isn't too awfully deep.:D
Oh, here's the weather report here...

I don't remember exactly...I want to say it was because of a noise violation because he had the silencer out or something like that, I'm not really sure.

No, I don't have to go to driving school. Not enough to make much of an impact on my driving record, since it wasn't a moving violation. And also since I have to go to court, the officer said that if I got my license by the day of the court session the judge would most likely just dismiss it. No biggy, just a hassle.

Because it was on the school's property. There's a big sign that basically says if you're here after dark, you're trespassing. Seen it before but we didn't even think about it. We go there all the time and mess around in the parking lot.

If the owners objected to you fooling around in the parking lot, it would :D

To be honest with you, not really sure. Car show, track. I'm sure that if you're someone deserted enough, and you're not on private property, the police won't car TOO much. No guarantees though:(

I think we should be able to vote, when the time comes around, for what we want our tax dollars to go toward. Not just let the gov. decide. I know this is practiced in some ways and others, but cant we have a speacial interest pool of money. You know for things that are illegal on public property or roadways, but people do anyways. Racing both drag and other, auto x, drifting! They built skate parks for kids on boards bikes, and blades to fet them off the streets and businesses. Why not build car parks or racing lots or some crap. Large enough to support all car related things. Plus it will bring in a ton of money, take kids off the street, and inherently save lives! My 2¢

While the concept is good, it's not really that practical.
I think the easiest thing to do would just be to work with an extension of the Auto X principle. For an Autocross event, a car club or similar organization rents a parking lot from an owner, sets up the cones, and let's people race.
All you'd have to do is just find an owner of a parking lot willing to let people use his parking lot every day.
