Valve adjustment question

me and my pops are doing a valve adjustment - I was just wondering, after reading thru a little how to where exactly "Top dead center" is. Thanks! =)

are you asking how to get TDC, or how to tell. TDC is when the piston is at the very top of the cylinder

take out the spark plug and shine a light into the spark plug hole and when the piston is at the very top then you have reached TDC

OH yeah, also, I was wondering also what to set the clearance at. It's a standard civic engine...

Top dead center should be when the arrow on your cam gear is facing directly up......
