my smooth looking ride

I just got my budget y-pipe installed on thurs. Jeff from Maximum tunning did it 4 me along with re-wiring my fogs taking off my rear emblems and red/clear my tailights. My ride looks preety smooth now. I wanna know is it necessary to diconnect battery for a few hours for the ecu to get reprogrammed? He said it wasn't necessary but I heard otherwise. I also wanna know approx. how long should the ecu take to adapt?

im not sure how long to leave the battery disconected, but it took my max like 2-3 weeks to reset to my CAI when i put it in

The battery thing takes 24hrs or more... no less.
Its easier just to reset the ECU with the screw.
