99 venyure electrical failure

lost all elctrical power after turning ignition to start, had the initial lights and tones but everthing went dead as soon as I start was selected. Key removed and re-inserted but nothing. Any ideas.

Simple things first: check battery connectors.
Check these:
1- Key OFF: If you turn the headlights on, do they light up? yes or no
2- If yes, keep headlights ON and when trying to start, will they go dead? yes or no
Check these:
1- Key OFF: If you turn the headlights on, do they light up? yes or no
