Front 4X4 axle capacity (99-06)??

Does anyone know the exact amount of gear oil for the front axle? Manual says to fill to 1/2 inch below the fill plug. I'm curious if anyone has measured it? I do know the rear axle takes exactly 2 & 1/2 quarts. Just curious.
