I beat an Eclipse

ok let me set the scene. after i got out of work @ 4.30 am i started smokin ex. :bonghitte with some co-workers we all parted our ways a little before 6 am. drive home from 91 to 605 to 105. when i reached the intersection with the 710 on the 105 i passed an eclipse not sure what yr but it has the circular reverse lights, i passed him @ 110 km/h (since i have the jdm cluster) i was trying to get home to take a serious :monkeypis and when i passed him i went around him and got infront of him and then started slowing down with traffic in front then i see him coming up faster and next to me i look at him quik and just down shift to 3rd and we both go i had a good lead cause he never passed me and just stayed behind me, i beat him all the way until he went around me when i started slowing down cause of up coming traffic. not only am i happy but amazed cause my car is a bone stock dx w/ a cold air no wait i mean short ram, took off the cold air cause of rain the past few days. so there is my story from a few mins ago since its 6.33 am. now time 4 a victory :bonghitte LoL

hey me too i was on 1-95 and saw a 95 or 96 eclipe and he was in the fast lane at first he just blew by me b/c i was stuck in some traffic so i switched lanes gunned it nailed 5th gear and started going in and out of traffic was goin head to head with the eclipse and i smoked that fucker


oh and my car is bone stock except for seat covers :)

my only prob is when im doin like 110 in 5th gear it sounds like im doin 5k or 6k rpm's (dunno no tacho)

:thumbup: LoL blueturtle, i thought eclipse's were supposed to be a little better than that, but guess not. o well now i know they aint got nothing on me especially if i go b16 :D in a month or so. HOPEFULLY !

Those base model eclipse are slow as hell. Its like your goin against a dx lol:p

Dude you shouldent be toking and racing. Normal driving is fine but at high speeds like that you wouldent be able to react fast enough.

I'm just looking out for the fellow 4th gens. The last thing i wanna see is a RIP post on this forum.

I appreciate the concern and i know better too but once u get the adrenaline pumping its like "what high" plus i only smoke what i kno i could take so i could drive. as for the eclipse RS = Really Slow i agree

i drive a dx ;) so its like racing me vs. me...lol...

A kid at school has an RS and he has a CAI and a universal exhaust on it. He thought it was the shit till he tried me when my car was stock and I think he said that after shifting into 3rd he knew he was done. I think I beat him by almost 6 car lengths but it was on a long ass road..I topped out at almost 120 running some serious RPM's

Eclipse's are slow, especially the RS. My automatic DX smoked a black RS eclipse with no problem

anyone got specs on it ? just wanna compair.

I've pulled on two or three Eclipse GS's I even have a friend with one and he cant beat me for shit... Of course he's about to slap a GS-T engine/turbo setup in so I'll probably be singing a different tune after that.

The eclipse RS's are slow as shit, there a DOHC, i think around 140hp in a heavy ass car. The GSX's or GS-T's will murder civics though. It'll be a good race with a b16 civic stock.
