Had to reply since lotusTT has a picture of my car in his first message!
(I'm virtually positive the photo is of the 2002 Azure Esprit that Silicon Valley Autogroup had for sale until recently!)

Love the car. The accelleration is mind blowing, and around here (Orange County, CA) it really turns heads - more so even than Ferrari's, Porsche's and the like. (Which are far more common in these parts than Lotuses.)

Hello, I am a Lotus owner too...
I have to say a freak. Lotus Freak I mean.
Presently I own a 1983 Esprit, have been working on it at night for two years, and got it running.
(It had been parked and abandoned for 7 years).
As we all have our preferences, please allow me to say I prefer the interior of the Giugiaro original,
Stevens softened it too much, the body as well seems too round to be dramatic-looking.
As the Giugiaro.
I had a chance to get a 1994 red-beige Esprit, great shape, low miles, but I just couldn't get to like the interior! so I went back to my Giugiaro.
Maybe there is a way to exchange bodies with a
newer Esprit, for the reliability and better performance only. Does anybody know if that type
of combination has been done? Giugiaro body-newer Esprit engine-chassis...?
Thanks in advance for any comments on this!
And please share any of your Espirit stories...!

My S2 had been parked up in a farm yard for 5 years because the rear calipers had been damaged during a pad change. New parts from England took a week and then only 2 hours to rebuild calipers.
The time standing around didn't help the bearings. I have replaced all the wheel bearings and the universal joints. Have since clocked up quite a few miles without trouble (the clutch release bearing is getting noisy though).
Just love the shape.

Hi
Actually the car is Blue with what was originally charcoal interior. Now faded to a pale blue. Black leather seats. Black carpets.

Here is a photo showing a Seven replica I made in 1988 now owned by friend

The photos were taken at the street race last month. A good day out. We brought our own stand (behind cars)
