BAN HID's!!!

Ok, i have been hearing about this quite a bit recently. In what states are there proposed bills to make HID's illegal??? I would really like to know. btw, what is going to happen to vehicles that already have HID's, will they need to be retrofitted with normal headlights?

i doubt they would be able to pass that, theres too many cars with the HID's that come stock like that. already a lot on the street too

that'll never pass. here in NY they're trying to outlaw chrome rims. it's bogus. I didn't pay 10 large for my whip so some chump with a bage can tell me what to do with it

well the thing is that i saw a news report the other day on how hid's can cause instant temporary blindness during the night, and therefore are dangerous...would suck if they did become illegal, i'd be pissed, i think they improve safety

yea, i heard bout the chrome hims thing. most cops are cool bout stuff, bu there is always the few lone assholes in the world. one pulled me over when i lived in wv for havin thoes led windshield washer lights and started yellin at me and shit on the side of the road. but i got out of the ticket at least :D

I don't understand why they want to ban chrome rims, that sounds pretty dumb to me.

As for the Windshield washer lights, you deserved to be pulled over for those. Not only are they ricey as hell, it is illegal to have a blue light ANYWHERE on the outside of your vehicle. Its also illegal to have a red light on the front of your car, or a white light on the back of your car (while driving forward). The reasons for all this should be pretty obvious. If not:

Blue and red lights are reserved for police, firemen, and other emergency vehicles

Red lights should only ever be on the REAR of a car.

White lights should only ever be on the FRONT of a car.

I guess its cool you didn't get a ticket, but I hope you learned and took them off, cuz they look pretty gay too.

its not the same everywhere tho, hell here in GA ppl have lights all over their cars and they dont do anything about it. couple of my friends had the windshield washer lights on their car too and never got stopped, and still have them on there!! and heres ur rice :finger4:

but to each there own i guess, just dont get mad when u get a ticket. but back on subject. the HID's i love mine just hate the dum a$$es who have them pointing in all diffrent directions. if you put them on aftermarket atleast do it right fwkheads :finger4: only other thing that bothers me is the dum fwk's that put it on there big ass SUV's blinding everyone infront of them. im lucky i have my dimming rearview but my side mirrors arent dimming and the mofo's blind you from the side. well ya HID's should be regulated not banned!!! not every car shoud have it its just plain hazardes to have them beaming right into your eyes. it should be pointed tuward the road not the inside of the cars infront of you, thats what your high beams are for :frog:

is it legal to have white washer lights on your hood, or are all of them illegal. i had them awhile back and never got pulled over but i kindof grew out of them. just curious if the color of them matters or not?

cop who busted me said every color but green was illegal, but ppl here have told me that everything is legal sept red, and it cant flash. it differs from place to place.:confused:

ya i would guess what ever attracts the cops. Red, Blue, flashing, its like the bug zaper but for cops and they dont get zap when they get to the light.:flash: :flash:

Why would they ban Hid's anyway? Do they pose a hazard?

ever been driving and some asshole behind u in a big truck or suv has thoes things blinding ya? or hell even cars passin by u int he other direction? the lights blind ya temp. and ppl are prob wrecking (even tho they are prob old, or jus cant drive in the first place) or could be like one of my friends back in wv, he was like a damn deer when a car was comin at him, he would look right at the damn lights :bonghitte

Well I know for a fact my HIDs blind people cuz I have my friends tell me when they see me comming down the road, they are like god damn it turn your lights off at night.

But that is the main reason I bought them, I got tired of these fkn hot shot BMW guys thinking they were better then everyone cuz their lights blinded, so I now look like a dumb BMW driver with these bright ass lights but I feel good when I hit a SUV or BMW, Mercedes or Lexus in the eyes, its especially more fun when I get behind them after htey cut me off and I blind them from their mirrors.

Even though I paid a couple hundred dollars for them, I do hope they ban them and everyone needs to be retro-fitted for Halogen bulbs cuz they do work, maybe not as blindingly good as HIDS, but they work.

yeah, i hit 2 raccoons (sp?) in a week when i was up north (minnesota) with my hid's, they definitely make animals stop and stare. as far as the trucks go, if any high riding vehicle is on your ass, their lights will blind you no matter what if you are in a low riding vehicle because their headlights shine right into your rearview mirror...i think that self leveling lights take most of the danger out of HID's, they only time i am blinded is if there is a dip in the road and the lights jump up and down

Thats the main reason I limo tinted my rear windows and did a pretty deep tint up front as well, I can shine out like the sun but it stays night as dark on teh inside and thats how I like it =D But when I get those SUV's behind me, I just let htem pass and get behind them and give em a little hell :D

ive got 20% all the way around. i dont see how people car drive cars at night that dont have tint on their windows. my tint helps it out a lil, but my side mirrors always blind me when ive got cars behind.

you guys don't get messed with for having such dark tint in the front?

In L.A you'll get pulled over quickly for having limo tint in the front. The cops pull people over for that all day.

naw i dont get messed up with the tint, i like it a lot better than having the windows so clear. helps with the dicks who ride ur ass with trucks too, takes a lil bit of the glare off of it

has anyone had the actual glass replaced with darker tinted windows, cause that's what i wanna do, won't ever have to worry about it fading then? i wanna know cause i think it'd be pretty expensive...

well if u get the lifetime warranty with the tint, they will replace it if it fades or anything like that. the good tint shouldnt fade unless uve been cleaning the glass with amonia based glass cleaners

Yep, my tint is almost a year old and it still looks new, its probably my favorite mod besides my HIDs :)

You can get a good tint around $160

Refering to LED Nozzles on the hood. I had clear ones (still have them, but they are disconnected) and I got pulled over after like 6 months having them. Cop said that it doesnt matter what color they are. Its the law, you cant have any axtra lighting besides headlights, blinkers corner lights, and fog-lights (either stock or A-M) So be aware of LED Nozzles. If you really want them? Just have them hooked up to the switch.

As for the HIDs, they will never ever will pass that retarded law, unless they will ban all the cars that come stock. But people will still keep installing/converting A-M ones, so there is no way to get rid of them. If you are talking that they are dangerous, you must be really dumb because you are definetly stearing straight in those HIDs. In that case THEY WILL BLIND THE F@CK OUT OF YOU!!!

i got my tint for 140, then next time i make a trip back to wv, im gonna make them redo the front windows and the wing glass. the windows were cut very shitty, and the wing glass is kinda peeling in both of the both corners

Personally the LED nozzles are played. I mean you see like 50 year old men w/ crown victories that have them. Things get played out quick when everybody has a certain product. Its clean on certain cars that have a certain look. It doesn't look right stock as ever w/ LED nozzles.

i had the LED lights when they like had jus first come out, mine are still on my car too, but disconnected. i destroyed the stock ones when i was taking them out.:rolleyes:

I like my HID's, what drives me nuts are those dumb asses that have like a 87 LaSabre or something with the blue "HID Look" bulbs, those are blinding usually one is pointed in the sky landing planes and the other is headed right through your windshield. SUV's that get behind you or stop at a stop light and point those fake HID in the outside mirrors, drive me nuts, i'm getting close to carrying a 1 million candle power spot light and giving them a taste of their own medacine, same applies to those idiots that drive at night with their brights on. The LED's, I use to like them, but like everyone says very played out, now that people have had them on a while i'm starting to see 1 burnt out and that looks horrible, yet i'll get pulled over cause I have HID's, a new car and talking to cops the look that I have more money then the people with an older car, sorry if any of you are cops, but right now, I don't know a cop that I like, hate them all. We have murders and theft going on and they do nothing but pull people over for this kind of BS. Thanks all, feel much better, had to get that out. Please no flaming, just my opinion. Chris

Maxima HID's are fine, its cars like BMW's that are blinding and now they put HIDs in Suv's, and they are aimed in the air as usual.

On the freeway yesterday, i had my fun with this, I drove slow, let some suvs Pile up behind me, let one pass me up, then I switched back over road his ass, 1 minute later he got out of the lane, did this a few times with a few SUV's, it seems that bright lights really are annoying

yeah, HID's in suv's are absolutely horrible, it's bad enough that suv/truck headlights are aimed straight at eye lvel of passenger cars, ad HID's to the equation and we're talking seriosuly dangerous here.

Honestly, i think its like a wealth issue. If you can blind more people it means you ahve more money. Thats why expensive cars got them and cheap cars dont. They only cost 350 a kit, so I am sure they can be installed at hte manufacture and tag on $350 for a kit, its even less then that when they buy in bulk.
