Alright, some days it works, and some days it doesnt. Whenever i stop and go to take my key it, it just wont come out i can turn the car off and the lights but it wont go any farther than that so i have to turn it to the right and back again, over and over and sometimes ill get lucky. But this morning at school, i could not get it out i was sitting in my car for 15 minutes trying to get it out but it just wouldnt give. I tryed putting in that graphite powder they sell for locks and other goodies like that but doesnt make a difference. Would it be becuase of the cold weather or is it something that im doing wrong. Thanks

i know that with my car in order to get the key out you need to push in and turn the key so it comes out u sure your cars not like that (by the way i have a 1990 civic dx)

Also i'd suggest that you get a new copy of your key and see what happens.

you tried moving the steering wheel around a lil bit right... just take is side to side while pulling it out... def. check to see if its bent and ifit is replace it...

and where you from in pa? you know about the 4th gen PA meet in April?

let me guess your car is an automatic?? cause i have a 91 dx automatic and i have the same damn problem but it only is bad in the winter like after my car has been running for awhile and i mean awhile it will work but i have yet to figure it out

I had the exact same problem in my '90 HB, the key would not come out for anyone. Until one day I was screwing around and turned the wheel as far as it would go and lock to the right and it just release. I have no idea why but when it happened again a couple months later I tried the same technique and it worked again. I have not had the problem since so maybe give it a try.

Well when i first got the car i got an extra key made and i used that one to start my car, but switched back to the old one. And yea it seems like it only happens when its really cold out, but im too lazy to wake up early enough to do my morning routene and still start my car. yea it is an automatic, becuase it was my first car for my drivers license test, long story. oh and jeef yea im from lebanon, between hershey and myerstown so yea i signed up for the april meet, hoping i get some good stuff done to my car by then. later

well my brother has a crx and he had to put his new fuel system in and he just hooked his car up to a button....he stsrts the car by pushing the button its pretty cool maybe you could do that....just make sure you lock your doors or get an alarm cause sumone can steal your car pretty easy......

yea finally got it to work..i just pulled it as hard as i could to the left and turned the key and it turned on...so it must be a wheel lock or something..but still its pretty gay that happend...yea a button would be a good idea, but it wouldnt be too hard for someone to break the window and just steel it..becuase windows wouldnt be a hard bargain. but thanks

yeah it would be easy for sumone to steal it but if you hook up the fuel pump or sumthing that has to be on to get the car to start...,hook that thing up to a switch that no one can find and you would have to turn that switch on then push the button to start the car...that would work out....

Our cars 4th Gen. in general. Auto, standard, CRX, Hatchback, sedan, no matter the model are notorious for faulty ignition switches apparently it is just something in thing in the design. You may just need to get the switch replaced.

umm wouldn't that system come with a chip that needs to be close to the button like in the bmw?
