Although the d15b2 has potential...these days swaps are usually cheaper int he long run (HP/$$). I bought a ZC with a blown head gasket, and rebuilt it to stock specs...I prolly coulda bought a b16 for the money I have put into the ZC, but I also now have a 'brand new' engine.
A lot of peeps that do swaps just replace the parts that rot, like timing belt, water pump, plug wires, etc...you can get a ZC that will bolt into your chassis (with a little wiring from DPFI to MPFI)
Or you can get a b-series motor, which cost about the same for a longblock, but you need a tranny, a little more wiring (for VTEC) motor mounts and shift linkage and axles.
If you are gonna dump money into rebuilding, why not rebuild a ZC, b16, or b18?? Some peeps have even stuffed Prelude (h22a) and CRVtec into 4th gen's...we have at least one of each here on AF
There's my $0.02..I feel like I have typed that /\ /\ /\ a million times, but I don't mind helping out the n00bies! ;)

Don't believe the miles. They say 35,000-50,000 but its all bullshit. They say that just to sell. Me i dont' care about the mileage since i'm gonna build it up anyways.

If you rebuild it to stock specs yes. Performance ... not as long as the stock.

OH and on the performance part it'll last but it depends on how well you take care of it also. I would go all motor with fine tuning and it'll last for a good while.

what do you consider performance like all i wanna get is a b16a with a short ram intake, 4 to 2 to 1 headers and a nice exaust system
but stock pistons and all that shit

Yes but thats minor upgrades. IF you go all out then thats a different story.

ok thats straight
so im gonna get a b16a then put in my intake and headers and hope that the engine only has like 60k miles on it
i can't afford to do a rebuild too
only have 2,500

Sounds like a good plan dude....use what's left to buy new plug wires, and a water pump, and belts. - that should take another $150 or so...then you got a few C notes left for shit you don't expect.

Good one on the kits:) Anyways this is what i would do. I would just save a lil more for new pistons like ctr (civic type r pistons)would be great. New headgasket and new clutch! Also you can get yourself some ctr cams also with cam gears. You'll be set and its extremely reliable:)

aight, how much hp do you think that would get me and would my little 4th gen be able to handle that kind of power??

i hope you have 2500 after your swap, because if you only have 2500 to spend then you cant do the swap unless yoru doing it yourself because a shop will charge you around 3000

Ok this what my friends dyno chart said. Its a stock b16a with only ctr pistons and intake came out to be 151 atw! Oh he had a v-tec controller but he didn't tune it. SO i'm guess you should hit like 155-160.
