i recently bought a 2002 sentra ser spec-v. it has 27000 miles on it. i traded my 97 mustang gt for it. what ive heard is that the first driver didnt run it to hard (used it for family purposes), but then one of my friends said that he has raced it before. so im really not to sure. but it runs nice and everything, but when i drive im always hard on the gas, and whenever i shut the car off, the engine makes this loud ticking noise like iv been runnin it for hours, im not sure if thats normal, but my mustang never made that kind of noise. and also, when i start it, it acts like it doesent want to start right away. as soon as i crank it up the rpms stay super low ( a little above 0 ) and at first wants to kill, when normally it idles a little above 1. im not sure if its because im not givin it enough gas, or if im just runnin it to hard when i drive. i payed a bundle for this car and its my first new car so i dont want to mess it up or end up blowen the engine or something. im not quite used to this car yet. iv not even had it for a week. now im afraid to run it as hard as i would like b/c all of the crazy noises im hearin from the engine when thats what i bought the car for. does all of this sound normal? is this something i should worry about? and should i have it checked out? its still under warrenty.

My opinion is that it wouldnt hurt to have it checked out. Infact, I would always get a car looked over by the dealer before I buy it.
Can't hurt to get it looked over anyways. Hope everything goes ok :)

The starting issue is a known "problem" with the spec-v's. The thing is the fuel pump takes a little bit to get the fuel running to the engine, there is nothing wrong, but it can be a little annoying from what I'm told. The best way to fix it is to turn the key to ON for just a couple secs before starting it, this lets the pump start going ahead of time. The ticking when you turn off the car is normal as well, my car, as well as all other sentras do it. Just curious, how many miles are on the car?

Thats all normal. My car douse the same. stays on top of 1 on the RPM. dousnt hurt to get it checked though. I dont think there is a problem with it. some cars I think start up differently My moms Blazer starts up quicker than mine and I one time made that ckkkkkkuhhhh sound beacuse the thing turned on so quick. I thaught I was turning on my car:D . dont worry though its all goooooooooood. have fun with the ALL NEW SPEC V.:D

oh alright, I was just making sure it wasn't still in the break-in stages which it obviously is not, hehe. I noticed you are in Louisiana....in case you're interested, Travis (our pioneer in forced induction) owns his own shop in Louisiana, its called Forced Induction Racing. He is prototyping a turbo on a spec-v, and has turbo'd several b15's in the past. Welcome to the community

this might be a dumb question but can you put other turbos on a spec-v?
i found a t-25 turbo on ebay. this guy owns a shop and hes gettin rid of 3 for around $400-$500 dollers. i asked him and he said it would fit. he said it fits 1.5 and 2.6 liter engines. and if this does fit. what all would i need to buy to have a turbo. i heard an intercooler, turbo tubing, fmu, fuel lines, and a exaust manifold. is this true, and is there anything else.

That clicking sound you hear after hard driving might br your exhaust system cooling and contracting. If you drive hard with the engine in the high RPM range the vehicle expels more heat (energy) out the exhaust. As a result the piping gets hotter than it would during "normal driving" and it expands more. When you remove the heat source (shut off the engine) the pipes begin to cool, contract, and make noise. I've heard that noise on every vehicle I've owned.

yes you could really put any turbo on a qr25, but each turbo has its own characteristics. The t-25 is a pretty small turbo, but should be pretty good for your application. The problem comes with everything else you need. Intercooler, piping, fuel management, boost management, fuel/oil lines, exhaust manifold, catback, you have to find an oil supply to tap into to feed the turbo, find a place to mount everything, and then have a ton of time and money to install and tune the whole setup. Building a custom turbo kit is no laughing matter, it takes a lot of money, knowledge, and skill, so unless you know what you are doing, have several grand and are willing to blow a motor or 2 in testing, I would get a turbo kit from someone who knows exactly what they are doing (no offense).

that is Travis's website, if nothing else you can look at everything you will need to go turbo. Good luck
