89 Accord - choke / idle question

Have an 89 accord.

Lately, it idles erratically. Sometimes it will rev up to 5k or near RPM when I push the clutch in, other times, it will idle so low, it will die at a stop sign. Sometimes, it performs normal.

Someone mentioned that the choke may be sticking and recommended putting a manual choke kit in.

Would this solve the problem, or is there something else that is likely causing the problem?

Thanks in advance for your help.
