Rattling noises in trunk area of 2000 cavalier

just got this car last week and whenever i go over a sharp bump, the back rattles...cant seem to find the rattle for the life of me. the area of the spare tire is all tightened down..thought it might be the muffler rattling against something, but its clear of everything....

anyone else have this problem? if so, did you fix it and how did you fix it? thx

Yea, I got a '99 so mine rattles when my systems going, damn annoying.

Probably a lose pannel in the trunk area.

This may sound kind of stupid but try taking off your rear license plate ans see if it stops. I have seen this before although I can't be sure it's your situation, if it does stop get some velcro and use the soft side and attach it to the backside of the tag.

i have a 99 cavalier and i found when the systems going or i hit a bump it rattles like crazy. It blows goats. I found out what it was though but dont know how to fix it.. Its up in the hinges of the trunk itself..any suggestions?

Is it a rattle or more like a clunk as in loose shock /strut clunk? If it`s a clunk noise it is possibly broken strut mounts . No way to tell until rear strut/shock is removed from car . 2000 Sunfire. been there done that.
