I think I've seen that one. Is that the one where the t64 supra comes from out of nowhere and passes the the C4 and the other supra who are already racing? Those single giant turbo supras are scary fast.

Hey Madz, what kind of 1/4 times do you think you're running?

slooooow. My car is too heavy- fully-loaded convertible. I ran it a couple of times last summer (completely stock) and my best was a 14.6@96:( My 60' times were pathetic though with a best of 2.45, I would either spin or bog down on the launch. Those times were only a month or so after I purchased my car, I'm a little better at launching at this point. Seeing as how I just had my engine rebuilt about three weeks ago, I doubt I will be running my car at the track again when it opens back up. I'm guessing I could hit a 14.3 or so with my new tires, clutch, fresh LT1, and some nice cool temps. If my car was a coupe, I would be well into the 13's by now.

Oh.. cool. At what mile did you need that rebuild?? Hows the trans holding up?

I had it rebuilt at 76,000 miles. I dropped a valve shattering the #3 piston into about 20 pieces. I wasn't even dogging on my car when I dropped the valve, it was just one of those things. I'm in the process of breaking it in right now. I got a deal on the rebuild because my uncle knows the guy that owns the engine shop we took it to and we pulled the engine ourselves and removed everything down to the block, heads and oil pan rather than paying the engine shop to do it. They bored it .010 over, re-machined the heads, new pistons, turned the crank .010 under, all new gaskets, freeze plugs, etc. etc.... basically your typical rebuild, nothing fancy.

I went ahead and got a new clutch since I had the tranny and engine removed anyways. I also had the flywheel re-surfaced for about $50. I put new fluid in my t-56 and it's holding up great *fingers crossed* The t-56's are known for being pretty rugged and able to handle plenty of power. Even if it were to go out, they are fairly inexpensive to rebuild.

Very true on the points about the transmission. New OEM clutch or aftermarket? Any plans mod-wise? Curious because I also have a 95 Z28, along with a 96:) And if that's your car in your avater, my 95 is even the same color. And I thought I was the only one!:D

HELL YEA! BT - Never Gonna Come Back Down
One of my favorites. I swear up and down it was actually written and recorded by the police. They use it to ensnare people speeding so they can make quota. That song MAKES you drive fast!!!:D :D
