325 question

I'm thinking of getting a 325, but I'm worried about how it would handle in the snow. I already have one RW drive car that is AWFUL in the snow, and don't want to repeat on a new car. Any thoughts?

It will handle fine if you have snow tires on it... don't expect to go anywhere with the sport tires on it...

Both FWD and RWD cars have advantages and disadvantages to them.

For example in a FWD car you have more weight on the front of the car that gives you better traction. But if you loose traction on the front not only have you lost your power, a good portion of your braking, but you also loose the ability to steer.

In a RWD car your much more likely to lose traction for power but you will rarely lose traction in both the front and the rear... in that case you're screwed, and be glad you bought a heavy car that does well in traction (BMW).

BMW now makes the XI versionin the 3 series that is all time all wheel drive. 67%/33% power distrobution! have one it is so sweet.

I love bimmers but I haven't see a single article that the author really liked the AWD BMW.... everyone says if you want AWD get a Audi. Hopefully BMW will make some improvements as time goes on.

yup Quattros are unbelievable.

Personally, I've never actually read anything bad about the XI yet. It's only been out a year, and so it hasn't been widely reviewed. Edmunds loves BMWs too, so if they didn't like the AWD system, then I'm pretty sure they would say so.

So I say go with the XI if your heart is set on owning a BMW. This way you can have the classy car and the dependence in the wintertime. I'm looking to get a 330xi sometime next summer and I can't wait. The new 3's are some of the best looking cars on the road, but that's just my opinion.

Seriously though, if you are really undecided about what car to go with, just go test drive and see how it handles/feels. If it feels good to you, go with it. Better yet, wait for a rainy day and take one out.

what year and what model. the 325 will go good in the snow with good snow tires on, the 325is, has more power and will not go even with new snow tires...(87 to 92)
