screw performance rims, steelies weigh less than most of them. With the exception of spoon wheels.

Uhh, sorry, try again. The steelies that came stock on my Civic weigh around 20 pounds PER wheel. My Rota wheels ( Mugen replicas) I got weigh only 11.7 pounds per wheel, that's almost HALF the weight of the steelies. Most decent rims out there will weigh less than the stocks, unless you are rolling on Civic HX rims. Konig wheels as well as Enkeis are also pretty light weigh. Point is, you don't have to over pay and get Spoon wheels to have something lightweight. I swear, some people just never think before they type a reply out, geez!

It's hard to say, because very few "performance" tires come in "13 sizes, let alone even "14 sizes. You'd almost have to get "15 rims to get decent performance tires. here's a link (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Sumitomo&tireModel=HTR+200&vehicleSearch=false&partnum=77HR3HTR200) to what should be some decent "13 performance tires for the size you need. :)

you weighed them at 20 lbs  Check you scale......lol.... stock honda wheels are rather heavy b/c most are thick cast wheels, the heaviest honda wheel ive seen is a 93 prelude (vtec) weighing in around 22 lbs. But most steelies are shaved/stamped steel and weigh almost nothing. Rota wheels huh, rota circuit 8's? b/c they weigh 12 lbs as most rota wheels do. lol (and if you have 16's there 15 pounds.) Most aftermarket rims are heavier. for example enkei makes a wheel named (kriminal) a 23 inch rim that weigh's 60lbs (note this is probably the worst).

It's hard enough trying to fit a "19 wheel on a Honda let alone a "23, so that comparison is completely irrelevant, obviously a "23 wheel is gonna weigh A LOT, doesn't take a genius to figure that one out, Sherlock! We're talking wheels for a Honda here, not for an Escalade.
And yes, my steelies DO weigh about 20 pounds each. Not only have I weighed it, but I've seen wheel weight sites that list the weights of various wheels out there, and they also got the same weight I got with mine. Coincidence, I think NOT! ;) Steelies are just that, STEEL! You mean to tell me steel weighs the same as alloys, or forged metals? You gotta be kidding me, right? If they weigh almost nothing like you said above that mine should, my Rotas wouldn't weigh AND feel less than my steelies. http://www.jaron95.com/smilies/owned.gif So before I check my scale, I think you better check your information. ;)

I've weighed them as well, came out to around 10lbs. Whats you point in some cases, forged weighs more BTW stock are cast and those aren't steelies (ever heard of shaved steel)???? what are you running 88 steelies? those were around 16lbs? I think you need to get a new scale. An acurate one at that, lol. As for the 23's I was giving an example of one of the heaviest after market wheels (don't think I said anything about them fitting a honda?) (plz list sights with wheel weights of honda steelies, I'm anxious to see this) I'll ask the university about there scale tom.

10lbs steelies? haha, that's gotta be the funniest thing I've heard all YEAR! If that was the case, no one would be out buying "perfornamce wheels" then. I don't need to check my scale because it weighed my Rotas just fine, I don't think it would have weighed them correctly if it weighed my steelies incorrectly. ;) You want a site? You've got it (http://www.wheelweights.net/)! And for the record, 18lbs CAST steel '92+ Civic wheels are bit more than the 10lbs you claim they are. ;) :p Like i said, think before you type, and again, check your scale.

well since he has a 90 hatchie it dosen't matter either way. You both agree'd that those wheels are (around) 16-20 lbs. The tire rack site which SilverS2kCivic presented earlier, seems to be a good place to decifer which tire's to purchase. I came up with the same thing he did, when looking for a performance tire to match your vehicle (Sumitomo
HTR 200). I'd check out Pirelli's as well. :)

my 92 civic steelies dont weigh no fuggin 10lbs! But yes, outside of like Motegi wheels and other crap like that - your rims should weigh less then your steelies.

You make no sense man. His list CLEARLY shows weights of '92+ stock Civic wheels. Knowing my Civic well, as well as 5th gen Civics, the steelies they used on Civics in '92 are the SAME ones they used in '00 which is the year of my car. You make yourself look stupider by each comment you make back to me. Get an F'ing clue pal! :bloated:

look at the method / manufactured, thats what he is reffering to. In all honesty I don't know (exact weights), of the newer steelies, but 20 lbs seems a bit much.
