The wheels do look a bit odd, but I like the color and it looks pretty good so far. Get some more pics when you get further.

I've built the kit. I'll try to find pics of it and link you to them if you want to see them. Mine was a blue with 18" Bellajios. Heres a link.

nice color, and the wheels are nice, maybe a bti wrong on the kit, I know I would put those on my kits, but that's me. If you like it then do it.. and more important, does your friend like it.. if she hates them, don't put them on..
Maybe my opinion will change when the cars is done and more pictures are available.

heres an update on the Bug its 99% complete all i need is the tail light markers, door handles and mirrors, the suspension is lowered a little in front and back to give it a better stance, i also added the NOS bottle in the back seat as you can kind of see in the first pic, id like to know what you guys think! :D

Not to keen on the rims but i'm loving the colour of it....really suits it

What made you pick the Revell kit and not the Tamiya one?
Whats the fitting like of the kit?

the only tamiya kit i found at my local hobby store was the one with the electric motor in it and i just wanted a regular model. every thing fits well theres no engine detail so theres not alot of work that does in to building it!!
