My new 2002 Suburban LS - ( new to me )
It has only 14,000 miles. I was actually able to speak with the former owner.
He traded it to get a 2003, same color/options and zero % financing. He said it never gave him any problems.
It's a 2 wheel drive LS w/ trailer pkg, 5.3 motor, 3rd seat, Alum wls, running brds, upgraded nine speaker sound system....on & on
I used to have a Cherokee Sport 2 wheel drive/4 dr. I used this for towing a show car on a trailer. It did okay, but would get downright scary at times in the wind & when Tractor Trailers would fly past. They would actually push it half a lane over It simply wasn't big enough.
I love how the Suburban rides & tows. It's very quite.
Looking forward to learning more about it & hearing any coments you all may have.

Very nice. A great choice of an SUV. Nice color too. Much better than the Cherokee. :D

Thanks.
What sort of fuel mileage are you getting with your 2001 ?
Wondering what to expect.

I get about a 19 or 20 MPG average if I drive liesurely (which rarely happens). A 14.65 average is more common for me, though:devil:
However, my Suburban is very unique so I'm not sure the fuel mileage would be the same. I have a 25+ gallon tank (not 30+), no 3rd seat, no running boards, no tow hitch, and no rear A/C... so I am a lot lighter than most Subs on the road:smoker2: Makes for some good tire spinning:D

Here's a question, does using the rear A/C use more fuel than just the front ?
I can't get over what a nice vehicle this is. Looking forward to it's first cross country trip. - (Well, not the fuel cost)
In the short towing trips I've done with it so far, it's been a joy to drive.
When I had the Cherokee, every towing mile felt like five. It just plain wore you out with the ruff ride & trying to keep it in the lane after a truck would fly by.
A few of my Fiero friends wondered what it would look like painted like the Fiero, here's a photoshop of it !

ACK! NOOOO!:bloated: Not unless you're going to upholster the interior with plaid:p
Anyway, I don't have rear air... so can't answer that one 100%. Believe it or not, there is a separate assembly hidden near the passenger's side rear wheel (in that big plastic interior buldge). I would imagine that operating another blower alone would increase strain on the alternator - in turn creating more strain & using more gas...

You won't even notice the change if any in your fuel mileage while using the rear a/c. The compressors are variable displacement, the less the load the shorter the stroke of the internal pistons. Worked on many of these and have never heard anyone complaining about fuel ecnomy.

I wonder if they have any '85 Black Suburban die-casts.... hmmm. I'd have to do a scale 6" lift and get scale 315/75/16 MT/Rs... and tint the windows.

oh, P.S. - I like your Champagne '02. But not that light color blue :eek2: - the Dark Metallic Blue was a good color that year - you could match the Fiero to the Burb...
