Tranny issues

When the car is running it whines pretty good in park and in drive and nuetral. When i accelarate it startin to shift a little hard in first and second gear and on the down shift......im worried that the trans is beggingin to go.

its a 2001 pontiac grand prix SE 3.1 v6

I dont know man, If its there in Park, remove the serpentine belt and start the motor. See if the noise it still present. You should be able to let the car idle without the belt for at least a few minutes.
