C&D claims (january issue) that the NSX will get not only a boost in power, but a boost in price. Well, in reading Vol 52, issue 5 of Road and Track (january) they say (pg 59)

Wait, lower price? Although that would be wonderful, I think R&T has some false information on this one...but let's hope not!

this is what CD said:

i don't think Honda would want to go to that direction, though lower price would be good for us.

I suspect that here R&T was just a victim of an early rumor that turned out to be false. That, or they may be guilty of bending the truth a little just to give people something to sink their teeth into. And perhaps no car company is more guilty of secretive tactics that reveal next to nothing of a car until its release date than Honda. This is why you will come across so many different impressions of what a new Honda/Acura model will look like prior to its release date. And I suppose that Honda uses these suspenseful periods of speculation to their full advantage, by catapulting the release of their new models with accompanying build-up of enthusiasm and awe.

Yes. JD@af is right. That issue is a little dated. Magazines are written at least a few months before the month they are realesed. Rumors are out dated in mags, most of the time anyway.

are you sure that it's actually few months?
I think that would make the info WAY...... outdated. ;)
I thought that they would release a mag and get to work for the next month dutring the month and finish it in one month.

I am not sure if you realize this but in 1991 the NSX had an msrp of a little over $ 60 k but the dealers had absolutly no problem marking them up to $ 90 k so Honda set the msrp to around $80 k.

The lower price came from the fact Honda is deciding weither to keep the alluminum or not. If they dropped back to steel production cost will be dramatically lowered.
