Details set
As I used the upgrade kit, I had a pilot figure at my disposal. It looks very good, but the helmet decals are worthless! I had to hand paint the complete helmet, and that is a shame because the upgrade kit is quite expensive and the decal quality is poor! After completion of the pilot figure I put it in the car. Mounting the seat belts and fixing them to the pilot is not an easy job. It takes a lot of effort to fix them to the pilot's racing suit, and if you fail to do that it looks very silly. Seat belts are there to strap the pilot tightly to his seat so they have to look like that. But after some attempts I finally got it right.

Building together the rear spoiler goes very smoothly. The decal remarks that go for the front spoiler, are the same here. The yellow decal that goes on top of the air box is useless, you will have to paint it as well.

Finishing
Last thing to do is the mounting of the wheels and tires. They come with sponge gum inside tires, because otherwise the car would collapse under its own weight. After you put the inside tires, the wheels feel really strong and firm. The tire decals are a dream and look very realistic. In the upgrade kit you will also find masking metal to spray the tire sponsoring to the tires, but I chose to use the beautiful decals.
The fixing of the decals on the cowling is the last job you will have to do. They all look great, except for the "Agip" decal because it is a sticker. It keeps on coming loose, as you might even see on the pictures. As I didn't have a "Agip" decal that large, I used it anyway. I'm sure I will replace some day...

Conclusion
It is a very beautiful made kit, and your model will look fabulous! There are a few things to keep in mind, and I think you will do great when you listen to my advice. The price was pretty high and if you run across the kit you will certainly have to pay a lot more than I did, but I think it is worth it. But it's up to you how much you want to pay for it of course! The upgrade kit was a bit of a disappointment, and to be honest, the most interesting thing of the kit is the building plan that tells you where to put all the wiring! Nowadays I have a lot of great reference books for that purpose, but back in 1992 I didn't! So if you do find this upgrade kit, and it is not too expensive, buy it as well. Otherwise leave it as it is...

I've seen all 3 threads about this model and all i can say is:
Absolutely fantastic work.
Could you just take a picture of it with a 1/24 model beside so that we can get an idea about the size of it.
Cheers

Man, that's a GREAT (huge..) model!! :eek2: and GREAT review of it. How long did it take to build the model and then make this kind of review..?
And would it be an idea to place links in all three threads to the other parts, since most reactions will get posted in this thread and the others will not be easy found and it would be a disaster to lose this one.

I spent my complete holiday (month of august) on that project : get up early in the morning, start working at 8 am, only stopping for food and drinks and never end the day before midnight. 31 days in a row, at least 12 hours a day : 372 hours minimum. I think it's more like 400 hours...
But I think (if I may say so myself) that it has been worth it. And I have been given offers of over $ 2500 to sell it, but I refuse : not because I think my work is that valuable, but because Rosso has gone broke and I would never be able to buy me the same kit again...
The review cost me about a week...

I didn't knew exactly if Alesi or Berger drove this car, not so into Ferrari, but when I opened the first thread, I saw immediately that it was Alesi. That's how accurate you've done the figure!!
I think you have the right to speak like that, cause it's just a stunner. No wonder people will offer you that kind of money! And how about the amount of work? Simply amazing. A full month non stop!! But I guess that's the way to tackle such a project. Otherwise there might be the risk of loosing interest on the way. But not with you. GREAT!!
Gefeliciteerd!! ;)
Well done!
