hey everyone,
im a newbie to using photoshop, and i was asked to build a website for a friend which includes some pics of cars. i am using photoshop 5 limited edition. i found a pic of a car that i want to use, and i scaled it down to the size i need, but now the photo looks very grainy and not nice and sharp like the original. i've seen some of the pics you guys create on the site and i think they are awesome! how can i get my pic nice and clear??? thanks!!!!!!

i used the transform --> scale function and held the shift key to keep it in proportion

when using photoshop you want things bigger, from my understanding, you made it smaller? i might have just read your post wrong

yea, i searched google for a four door sedan pic that i want to use in a banner i'm making for a friends website. the image was what i was looking for 'cept it was way too big, so i figured i would make it smaller to fit in the banner....its smaller alright, but the lines arent nearly as crisp and clean as the original sized image. ive seen some chopped cars in this forum and some look absolutely real. i wanna be able to get that appearance for my small image

if you just want to change to size of an image, simply go to Image ---> Image Size and decrease the dimensions. That should make it look almost as clear as the original.
