third brake lamp indicator problem

Okay, here's my problem. I hav a 1999 Acura CL 3.0 I'm not sure what the later model CLs look like, but in the dash of my car there's a display that indicates which of the doors are open, and if the third brake light is on. This indicator for the third brake lamp is always on, even when I'm not on the brake pedal. I look in the rear view mirror and the third brake light is working fine. It's just this indicator that is malfunctioning.
Any advice? I'm guessing it's just wiring, but honestly I'm pretty hesitant about taking apart the dash just to check on a few wires (and I wouldn't know what the hell I'm looking at anyway). If you guys can help, that'd be great.
Thanks,
Michael

I am not sure this is going to help, but on my dash (2001 CL), the thing at the back of the little picture is the "open trunk" indicator. I am not sure there is a dash light for the third brake light. Maybe your trunk is open or the connections for it are bad?

Thanks, but actually I figured it out the other day. I looked in the owner's manual, and that third brake light indicator stays on when one of the brake lights burn out. So yeah, just gotta replace the bulb. Thanks anyway.

Cool. That is a good thing to know.
