It would be interesting to see what this model would look like if it was still in production today. Maybe Pontiac would make a decent sports car out of it.

It would be interesting to see....Im not sure why they quite making them to be truthful. I think it was b/c of all the problems with them. So far we have never experienced anything wrong with ours. They were cheap and quick. Heck, maybe Pontiac will come out with a Concept Fiero. It sure would be nice to see...

Problems!?? the only problematic car was the 84 4cyl with out the recall work done to it.
I've had 2 fieros over the past 5 years and the only problems i've ever had were all self-inflicted. not a single Manufacturing anomoly out of either of them.

The Older 87and 88 had problems catching fire. I don't think the 86 had this problem. Maybe the 85 had the fire problem too. Overall like i said. We have never experienced any costly or major problems with our 86 Fiero 2M6

Ford trucks do look nice but personaly i would rather have a Chevy, i had a older ford truck and it was nothing but problems, my friends have chevys and they always seem to run great...... I hope you enjoy the truck though.

Everyone has there own opinions, i like fords styling better but Chevys seem to hold up better and last longer - better built............ im sure some people feel just the opposite about this though... let us know what you get, are you planning to keep it stock or are you gonna do stuff to it?

i don't believe I have seen many mods for a fiero? Has anyone?

You have no idea, thousands of body kits for them (well actually you take off all the fiero body panels and bolt on new panels that will make it look like just about any car) engine swaps are common: Northstar, 3800 Series II S/C, 350 Chevy, 3400 DOHC..... list goes on and on.... you can do lots of things to these cars, cheak out www.fiero.nl www.v8archie.com just search for kit car on yahoo if you want to see body kits; most of them will be fieros

i knew about the body kits and all and heard how people have put v-8 in them. I just never hear much about improving the 2.5L
IntegraB18LS
04-02-2003, 12:20 PM
the 2.5 is a bad start, the 2.8 has many improvments that can be done...
Scott 02
04-02-2003, 09:45 PM
Shit, I ment 2.8 I don't know what was with me last night.
IntegraB18LS
04-02-2003, 10:08 PM
there is cams, turbo kits, headers and all the goodies for them.... best thing about the fieros are the engine swaps that can be done so cheap.... I did a 4.5L Caddy V-8 and it cost me under $2000

I used a 440T4 Automatic Tranny, only reason was it was overdrive tranny unlike the fiero 3 speed. the reason why i got rid of the car was because i was 13 when i started building it and I didnt like care about automatic/manual.............. People usally use the stock fiero transmissions
