Bose System

Aight, so here's my deal. I hear that if you don't have climate control on your maxima, it's WAY too expensive to get it done. Well, my car happens to be a stolen recovery, and right now I don't have climate control...But, my car may have had it, because the unit may have been stolen and the dealer just put in the cheaper AC unit. I read online that the automatic climate control is part of the leather package- and my car DOES have leather. Does this mean that I can go buy a climate control unit and install it cheaply??

all GLE models came with leather seats and the auto CC.
it was an option on the SE (prolly required leather seats)
non of the GXE had the auto CC not even as an option.

I don't see why you couldn't buy on and install it.

NOTE: look on top of the dash (passenger side) and there should be a little sensor the size of a quarter. It checks the outside temp. (only Auto CC will have that) more info check your owner's manual ;)

The ambient temp. button will indicate it.

what's the ambient temp. button? where is it? Oh, and I don't see that quarter size button on the passenger side, but a Nissan dealer said it can be done for not too much $$. I wanna get this done, but I don't have any money to waste, so I gotta make sure it'll work before I do anything. Thanks guys!

I went to the dealer with my homeboy today and we looked at this Maxima. It was a 97 Max that had leather interior and the bose system with no spoiler or white face gauges. So I know it wasn't an SE, but it was 5 speed, so I know it wasn't a GLE. But the door handles were painted black just like the car. I was confused but the dealer listed it as a GXE. Has anyone here ever ran into a Maxima like this. My friend might buy it next week if they still have it.

The ambient temperature button should be between your cold air down button and one of your air location settings.

I don't have it either..............it probably comes on later 4th gen

dont waste you time with the climate control its a load of shit. all it does is delay your heat/air when the engine is cold. once the temperature gauge begins to rise the vents turn higher, if i didnt have it i wouldnt waste my money, its not really like it gets the car to the exact temperature it just goes with the heat in the engine and then turns down when the car gets hot inside. save your money unless its really cheap.
